@BBCLookNorth: Hundreds of volunteers take part in overnight anti-terror exercise at Meadowhall:

All seems to be running smoothly on the rails across Yorkshire at the moment and if you’re planning a rail journey today the latest information is here.

The road at Kex Gill, which regularly requires maintenance “suffers a significant chance of a landslip” according to the council.

The road forms part of a major regional cross-pennine route carrying almost 9,000 vehicles per day.

It was closed early last year, after significant movement and cracks were detected on the hillside.

South Yorkshire Police say an anti-terrorism exercise at Meadowhall was “extremely positive”.

856 volunteers took part in the drill in the early hours of this morning, together with police and other emergency services.

Deputy Chief Constable Mark Roberts said “brave acts” were carried out during the drill to protect others.

He added that the environment was as real as possible and the exercise will be used to improve future anti-terrorism procedures.

The UK terror threat has been at “severe” since August 2014.

Ed Carlisle’s been in charge of the latest plot in Beeston. He says he wants to empower people to provide food for themeselves:

It took place at Meadowhall shopping centre in Sheffield, to test the response and preparedness of the emergency services to a possible attack – over 850 volunteers took part in the exercise.

The threat level to the UK remains at ‘severe’ as it has been since August 2014 and the operation formed part of a national programme of exercises required under the Civil Contingencies Act.

At the beginning of March,  sanctions for such usage were doubled  to six penalty points on your licence, and a £200 fine.
